Puritan Star Spangled Mercerized Crochet Cotton, American Thread

American Thread, The Famous "Star Spangled" Mercerized Crochet Cotton was introduced in the early 1950's.  This was one of the earlier spangled or metallic thread lines.
A 4-ply, mercerized, 100% cotton thread, bedspread weight/size 10 -- with best details over at Ravelry (of course).
American Thread Co. issued three pattern booklets in specific promotion of this thread line.  Star Puritan Book's 100, 114 and 132.   A number of the patterns from book 114 and 132 are in the shop; I do not yet have book 100 in my collection.
With each new material or publication release, American Thread also advertised in a number of the needlework magazines.
This particular advertisement for the Big Round Tablecloth is from a 1957 issue of Modern Needlecraft Magazine.
And, one of their motto's for this brand .... Well,
"To raise the eyebrows, Of the highbrows, Crochet with Puritan".
Thanks for dropping by.
